For the Love of the Game - Part 2

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

- Apparently you can bet on anything in this world, including the over/under on Billy Joel’s singing of the National Anthem.  My thoughts: Joel is a fast paced singer – he’ll knock it out in a min, 15 second (thanks Gregg for the link)

- Ford Motors is taking the lead in hands free – I may never leave my car again!

- If you like a good high school sex scandal (with National Guardsmen!), you’ll enjoy this one.  Every paragraph, the story spirals further and further away.  But the best line in the story is from paragraph 2: “…since all parties involved were at least 16, the age of consent in South Carolina…”

- I just hope when their ready, you here “mmm… donuts”

For the Love of the Game - Part 1

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

- This is why I love Marvin Harrison (but I still hate the Colts): He’s not flashy. He goes out and does the job that’s asked of him. He reminds me of the great Barry Sanders, who just handed the ball to the ref after he scored, making the simple statement: Mission Accomplished (thanks Gregg for the link and the obligatory shout out to the Orange)

- Are you starting to get the feeling that John Cho is this generations Alex Winter to Kal Penn’s Keanu Reeves?

- Geico has gone a little nutty with these Caveman ad’s… Hey, as long as my car insurance doesn’t go up…

- Heads up folks - we might be doing blue t-shirts next year for draft weekend

WEDNESDAY “RETIRED ORANGEMEN” BONUS: This week, Cantor takes a look at the Piv’s new movie

Snow Cometh - Part 2

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

- Bam has turned his position as the second-fiddle “Jackass” into not one, but now a second show of his own.  Now he’s marrying a nice Jewish girl… what’s the deal with guy? I mean, his last girlfriend seemed WAY more his style…

- Colbert is big business: For my money nothing beats out this Alpha Squad 7 t-shirt

- Remember the NO Fan in the “Fuck the Eagles” t-shirt? Apparently Maxim does (kinda, but not really, work appropriate)

- If you don’t “AWWW,” you’re a monster!

TUESDAY “YOU TUBE” BONUS: While I could care less that Regis doesn’t know what “t-bagging” is, I LOVE the fact that KELLY DOES!

Snow Cometh - Part 1

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

- Not a cloud in the sky, but snow is fast approaching. Let winter BEGIN! (you have to say that last line like you’re watching Iron Chef)

- If you’re only going to half-ass it (pun intended), then do Maxim, and don’t waste my valuable and precious Playboy pages

- If this movie is “more than meets the eye” then I can’t wait to see it

-I’ve never really gotten into Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but a buddy of mine at work loves it.  It must be decent, if they’re turning it into a movie

Delayed Due to Grand Jury Duty - Part 2

Monday, January 29th, 2007

- I love football and the Super Bowl as much as the next guy – but seriously, a “65-hour pregame show”? How different ways can you say “It all comes down to the game play of Rex Grossman?”

- If you have read Seabiscuit (the movie does the story justice, you just can’t beat Laura Hillenbrand written novel), then you’ll understand why everyone supported Barbaro’s recovery (which, sadly, ended today).  They said he would never run again, but you always kind thought he would.  Very sad, but you can’t say enough about the efforts to keep him alive. Truly amazing.

- Heroes is the next Lost (in the best way possible, I say that): If you haven’t watched, you’re only 12 episodes behind (13 after tonight).  NBC has them all online – it’s worth the half day on the weekend, trust me. (yes, I know it is on against 24, but fret not: Sci-Fi runs repeats the Monday episodes on Fridays)

- So this Indy 4 rumor is for real? Sweet…

Delayed Due to Grand Jury Duty - Part 1

Monday, January 29th, 2007

- Excuse my tardiness. I spent the morning getting out of Grand Jury Duty

- Wow, this is just like when George Clooney left ER… except Clooney already was on his way to having a post-TV show career at that point.  What have you done TR?

- Following in the footsteps of Reality couples Whitney and Bobby, and Britney and Kevin, Beck and Posh could be headed to the small screen

- Nothing but a cocktease… a really good cocktease

Is the Day Over Yet? - Part 2

Friday, January 26th, 2007

- Jason sent me this link to Wikia.com. Looks like it is user generated content like Wikipedia, but you are creating a content community, rather then encyclopedia entries.  I think…

- Upper Deck enters the toy biz with really creepy figurines of three QBs – the Past, the Present and the Future

- NPR is now accepting entries for its first Oscar Speech contest (thanks Brian for the link)

- More from Brian: Don’t you wish you could lose it to a celeb… if front of millions of viewers? Yeah, me too… Guess I’ll apply (PS – How do you prove you’re a virgin?)

Is the Day Over Yet? - Part 1

Friday, January 26th, 2007

- Tiger shows the Colts what they’re going to have to do against Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson next week

- Nine days and counting: 41 reasons to watch Super Sunday

- Waves couldn’t stop Johnny Utah. Neither could Swayze.  But tap dancing could finally put him under

- The ONLY thing Paris Hilton is good for: Nude photos (NOT WORK APPROPRIATE)

Busy Day - Part 2

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

- Scott Baio used to be the man. Or so he claims.  Some of the excerpts are both funny and ridiculous (including the time he humped a corduroy sofa)

- Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with the Bengal’s?

- Fun with names: www.scottwatson.com (not looking to good for a young guy), www.jasonsherman.com (ah, High School memories), www.greggmoore.com (heheheh… enter), www.brianyeung.com (under construction), and www.brock.com (placeholder).  Finally, ever Googled “Retired Orangemen”? Some interesting results (check them ALL out)

- Lessons on how to drink for free

- Wiiiiiii! It’s the news!

- Welcome back “Romber,” my favorite Amazing Race couple

- Another list I didn’t make… and this time, I think I deserved to make it!
