Orange Update - Part 2

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

- Not quite the Super Bowl, but slightly better than the Bud Bowl (well, not the original Bud Bowl, just the ones that followed)

- Apparently some idiot is charging users a monthly fee of $40 to gain access to a Paris Hilton website, which promises footage of her in a “sexy bubble bath,” photos in “racy situations,” and footage of her drinking with friends and using drugs. Ugh, MAKE HER GO AWAY!

- The fact that Kerry considered running again is disturbing

- One more reason to eat at “Subway”

- A Random update can be found at Retiredorangemen.com

- Speaking of Retired Orangemen, congrats to Dave for having your proposal to “Tinarella” make WNBC’s Valentine’s Day list (look for Dave’s listing under “Claudia, Ridgewood, N.J”)

- Robots, boobs, the guy from Las Vegas? Could the new Transformers movie look any better?

- Pepsi is giving away a $100k can: The question is: Who the f*ck would want it?

Oscar Tuesday - Part 2

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

- Yeah, yeah, yeah… “Cars” was good. But where is “Barnyard”s nomination?

- My Tivo knows me so well, that it will know to tape this Lesbian kiss without me even telling it (thanks Brian for the link)

- Things that make me cry inside: Scout Productions is developing “Sox Appeal,” a reality television show combining speed dating and Red Sox games that is scheduled to start airing on the Sox-owned cable channel NESN in July

- Star War Episode 4 famous battle scene… remixed

Oscar Tuesday - Part 1

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

- Oscar picks will come before the big show. In the meantime, get acquainted with the nominees

- Billy’s playing the Super Bowl: Ok, so it’s not the Halftime show (for some reason Prince get’s that honor even though Billy has sold almost twice as many units than Prince, ranking sixth all time.  Prince is ranked 33, right after Alan Jackson), but I’m sure it’ll feel like 1991 when Whitney blew our socks off with her version

- Cagefighting is an official sport with a TV contract? I thought it was just something the WWE did whenever there was a WrestleMania (Speaking of: RIP “Bam Bam” Bigelo)

- Interesting that the “Jack Bauer Adventure Bag” usually ships within 24 hours

Weekend Recap - Part 2

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

- If rain and sleet can’t stop the mailman, then six misdemeanor counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and four counts related to 500 rounds of ammunition found in the house can’t stop the Tank (Thanks Gregg for the link)

- Bill is leaving: Wonder where he’ll end up in a few years (and you know he will). (Thanks Karen for the report)

- It should be noted to all Retired Orangemen Fantasy Football team owners that Jason Rose, who wrote an article and predictions for our 2006 Draft Book, predicted 8 of 12 playoff teams correctly, and had the Colts representing the AFC in the Super Bowl and has them winning it all! For more on Jason Rose, check out his website at www.sportsnose.com

- Qadry Ismail caught one pass for 44 yards in Super Bowl XXXV, which was enough to help the Ravens win the Super Bowl, and get him this beautiful ring below (thanks Mike for the photo; not sure how you got it, but it’s pretty fricking cool)

Weekend Recap - Part 1

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

- Boy, were my predictions wrong. Regardless, let’s go Bears, and (hopefully) the Super Bowl Shuffle ’07!

- With the Colt’s win last night, Jason won a bet with Gregg that requires him to come to Deep Creek Lake for the Super Bowl.  Get excited Gregg, because there’s snow on the ground!

- Some will argue that having your wife induce labor so you can make sure you don’t miss the Bears win a tip Super Bowl in 20+ years is crazy. I’m not one of those people.

- I know liking Eva Longoria is sooo 2006, but she is soooo hot

Predictions for the AFC Conference game: New England

Friday, January 19th, 2007

- It would be a “New” Super Bowl if England played Saints… anyhow, I’m taking NE over the Colts (again) thanks to Brady’s phenominal dome record: 10-0

- Enjoy this low rate, high budget 24spinoff. I bet the guy never gets pit stains  (thanks Brian for the link)

- Come on, who doesn’t want to stay in “The Soprano’s” room?

- Stupid people crashing stupidly

Enjoy the weekend…

Predictions for the NFC Conference game: New Orleans

Friday, January 19th, 2007

- I’m 4-4 in my Playoff predication, so you can assume half my guesses today will be right.  And according to the ESPN experts, it looks like it might be this one

- I enjoyed “Colbert vs O’Reilly 1,” but agree with MSNBC’s Andy Dehnart when he says, “…the two appearances came across mostly as a lark, a promotional stunt designed to help both hosts and hurt neither.”

- Good bye Beast, Hello Mermaid

- Speaking of musicals: Who thought “Legally Blonde: The Musical” was a good idea?

Seriously, “Scrubs,” Tonight, Watch…

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

- I know where I would start my investigation: The new Buyer at DD’s. I think it’s convenient how his promotion comes at roughly the same time as the announcement that T.J. Maxx and Marshalls chains had their computer systems breached and customer information stolen (mmm, hmmm… actually if the FBI is reading this, I am TOTALLY joking)

- Disney finally takes a misstep: I knew that Raven was not a good influence on children

- Are you not hearing me? Watch the Scrubs The Musical tonight (sneak peak here), which was written by the guys from Avenue Q (Thanks Brian for the link).

- Anyone read the ESPN AM Jump? I’m loving it!

Tonight TV Watch: Scrubs “The Musical”

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

- If you are ever going to start watching the Colbert Report, tonight is the night

- Thanks Jason for posting in the comments section.  Because of your hard work, this link is for you

- Ok, there saying technical difficulties and I could see that as an excuse.  But look at her face: Paul is wasted! (PS - How come when I looked up “Paula Abdul” on YouTube, this was the first thing to come up - not that I’m complaining)

- I am in love… and it’s with a toaster
