Someone Turn Up the Heat, It is Cold Outside – Part 1

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

- Hiring a Shula is the next best thing to bringing him back. It’ll be like the return of Gibbs to DC, minus the race cars

- Lessons from Jack Bauer: I’ve been beaten, kidnapped, gassed, and shot at, but the most terrifying thing I’ve ever been through was facing my daughter after I made her believe I was dead. (Thanks Gregg for the link)

- Idol on Crack

- Bad results, but I love where your mind is at Promotions Marketing folks… Good stuff.

Four Day Week! – Part 1

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

- President Obama?

- No class? Get over yourself LT – Don’t be a sore loser. If you had won the game in New England, you would have danced on the field with no thought to the “team logo” too…

- Will Ferrell returns with more hilarious satire about a sport I never think about

- Finally, something to match my Dan Marino “Starting Lineup” action figure

Predictions for this Saturday (1-1): Chicago, New England

Friday, January 12th, 2007

- Even Time magazine supports Friday Night Lights… WHY ARE YOU NOT WATCHING!

- You forget sometimes that the WWE is still very popular.  That said, apparently they still need to do stuff to get attention

- The Piv goes big-time

- If you do nothing else this weekend, watch 24

I’m not in on Monday… See you on Tuesday…

Predictions for this Saturday (1-1): Baltimore, Philly

Friday, January 12th, 2007

- We all know the Steelers won thank to a catchy fight song (… here we go, Steelers, HERE… WE… GO… Pittsburgh’s going to the Super Bowl).  Now the Eagles have one – could Pennsylvania go back to back?

- Giving Respect to Scott: Great idea by the Disney folks to get kids involved with the making of HSM2

- I didn’t watch the trailer for “The Astronaut Farmer,” after I saw how ridiculous the picture was. It is quite literal.

- If you haven’t had a chance, check out my buddy Josh’s blog over at the Baltimore Ravens website. He’s doing it semi-daily now, and it’s quite good.

For the Kiddies – Part 2

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

- Coming to America! Beckham joins LA, and looks to conquer the WHOLE world.  Personally, I think he’s making a mistake. Stay where your fans are and be happy to be adored by the world.  Yes, the US is big and profitable, but by moving to a crappy soccer team in a crappy soccer nation, you’re going to piss off your base.  This is a bad move, and will hurt the brand that is “Beckham.” Now, I know some of you think this will energize soccer in America and create a sport on the scale of the NHL (and quite a scale that is), but I don’t think one man can define a sport.  If there was an Anti-Beckham that could create matchups like Jordan/Bird, Ali/Frazer, Sosa/McGuire or even Manning/Brady, then the MLS has a chance.  The drama of sports is what draws in viewers and fans… not some pretty boy married to a Spice Girl.  Agree? Disagree? Let me hear it in the “comments”…

- Free download of the second two first episode of Extras… It’s in the HBO Podcast section (yeah, you read that right)

- I’m hungry… Dodger game anyone? (Thanks Jason for the link)

- For those of you who are still curious, below is the answer to today’s trivia question: What law was the bill trying to get passed in “I’m Just A Bill”?
