- So much for the Internet leak causing viewers to stay away: Wolverine dominates box office (but can it beat Star Trek this coming weekend???)

- Why do the MTV Movie Awards always seem so dated? For example, nominees were announced today and they include The Dark Knight  and Iron Man. I know they came out last summer but that was sooooo long ago

Summer Movies Cometh – Part 1

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

- I was lucky enough to catch an advance screening of Star Trek this past Monday and I have to say that it’s one of the better ones in the series. Variety has a review of the movie (some spoilers) that I agree with: “While respectfully handling the Roddenberry DNA, Abrams… [has] successfully transferred [Star Trek] to a trim new body that hums with youthful energy.”

- First look at Wolverine taking on Sabertooth in the first X-Men: Origins film (and what’s with Wolverine’s claws???)

- The Detroit Lions release their new logo and team uniform (see the difference? No, then check out their old logo)

- As the NBA playoffs continue, enjoy the real challenge: The matchups for the best dancers of the playoffs

- The Washington Post held it’s third annual Peeps Show contest and for the third year-in-a-row I forgot to enter (damn you brain!)

- “It got so bad for the Yankees that first baseman Nick Swisher pitched a scoreless eighth inning, the first New York position player to take the mound since Wade Boggs used his knuckleball in 1997” (Ed note: A scoreless inning? Maybe Swisher should be the starting pitcher)

Extra Slice – Video: As if you needed one, here is a reminder: The 2010 NBA All Star Slam Dunk Contest is going to be siiiiicccckkkkk….

- Kayne West joins the ever expanding energy-drink business. Does Kanye really need MORE energy?

- I can’t tell what I’m more excited about: These photo’s of Jason Kidd’s wife naked (NWA) or this site NS4W.org (Dot Org?)

Extra Slice – Video: Today’s Internet is buzzing with Billy Bob’s completely-out-of-it interview with a Canadian radio station (it weird throughout but it gets good at about 6:51)
